My name is Andrea, I am a photographic journalist and I will be travelling to the Falkland islands in February and March documenting the daily life, nature, and battlefields of the islands. This will consist of a three week residency where I will be working along side several different companies who work on the Islands. This photographic work will also go towards my final project for my Masters degree in photography which will be shown in a gallery later on in 2017.

100% backed in under 24hrs :)

Hi Andrea,

Congratulations on getting fully funded so fast! It's really great to see your success with these photography projects on Kickstarter. A lot of time we focus on the huge campaigns that the smaller artists that crowdfunding started out supporting don't get the credit they deserve.

Keep us updated on how your project goes! Looking forward to read about your residency on your blog.

Thanks for your support. Being a non famous/non rich photographer who doesnt live in a location where I can mingle with the right people, it is hard to try and follow my dream of documentary photography. Kickstarter has helped me a lot in getting my work out there to people who are interested in my work.

I am super excited about going to the Falklands for my next project, and thankful for the backers who have helped with some of the extra costs involved. I have learnt that a few days into my adventure there will be a solar eclipse which I will try to attempt to photograph, which will be a great addition to the work (if the pictures turn out ok).

Once again, thanks for backing and i hope you have a great 2017 :D

Congratulation on your successful campaign.
I lost a very good friend fighting in the Falklands war in the 1980's so it great to see a positive project like yours!
Enjoy your trip, it's pretty amazing.
