To be honest, I'm not exactly sure why they made that rule, but likely for liability concerns. They recently revised their rules: https://www.kickstarter.com/rules

Technically, eyeglasses could fall into this trap: "Any item claiming to cure, treat, or prevent an illness or condition (whether via a device, app, book, nutritional supplement, or other means)."

Thanks! My girlfriend told me this last night, great news! I am still planning on looking into Indiegogo, however our experience with Kickstarter has been amazing so I will probably go with them.

Great video. My goal of $50,000 is probably too high but I reached out to someone with a successful campaign on kickstarter who told me to not lower my goal purposely. He met one of the kickstarter owner at an event in New York and thats what she said to him. The reason is that a lot of people who want to support a campaign will have a sense of urgency and might donate more to help you reach that goal. Kind of the opposite of what was said in the video though.

But I am launching my campaign next week and it is too late to go back now. Wish me luck!

Some great information here — the section on perks was especially informative!
