Which one will bring my campaign more backers? I see that facebook ads are the best place to promote, but I don't see much about online media brining backers. Is online media just a waste of time?

Not at all, if you contact the right media, which covers stories in your niche, with the right audience.

PR on useless no traffic web will churn you...well, no traffic.

Would probably lean towards utilizing social media if you are at all familiar with running Facebook ads yourself that way you can see the conversions and get to know your audience. With public relations, this can also provide a boost provided you are featured in the right media actually related to your project.

Yes, most of the people would do Facebook ads, but if you do not have any strategy or careful planning on the target audience. It is going to be a big waste of money, and you will never get back the ROI. I would suggest you check out some articles on how to set up a good and effective ad. It can be a success sometimes, depends on how you do it.

Do a quick search on Google, you will see lots of marketing agency that helps to promote your campaign, so don't worry.
If you ask me, I would say Kickbooster. Hope this help.
