Awesome post and will be very helpful for this first campaign I've launched. I stated this as a mental health and wellness journey and actually learned of kickstarter through another patient here. I'm doing the whole campaign on my cellphone from my bedroom in the mental health ward. Also just had both hips replaced , so there is no lack of challenge.

I really appreciate your guidance and advice , very well put together. Thank you!

Thanks for the ideas- of course many of them are more about what not to do, and advice on how to prepare a campaign before it has started. My campaign started a couple of days ago and had a great start, now I'm hitting the slump. Time to figure out those facebook ads, and mobilize my base! As an artist creating something unique like an endangered species coloring book with animals no one has heard of, it's a different market than simple gadgets everyone can use. Thanks for any advice or support for my 'art for a cause' campaign!

Cool, but you gave out the wrong url in your signature - it's:

Good stuff here! I recently started my campaign, actually almost 10 days ago so that struck me. I appreciate the advice and look forward to a successful campaign.

My first campaign was a failure, I've learned a lot from that!

Awesome post. Few questions.
Did reddit really help?
So in the end, did you direct your ads to your kickstarter page or your facebook page?

On my direnzo campaign, half of the backers come from the kickstarter search engine itself! Amazing!

Nice! I'm also planning a kickstarter campaign on watches. Though I must say what we have are somewhat different. I'm doing a quartz watch which is aiming on a more entry level watch that is more affordable. That said, I think your watches are of different target customers in some way. Nevertheless, an amazing design and content you have which I think is probably why 50% of your backers are from kickstarter's own search tab. :))
