Maybe BackerClub is good for tech and other crowdfunders that have a final product for their Backers, but for something like a short film by a non-celebrity, I don't think these companies are useful. And I'm suspicious of them. I am producing a music video in July, and have been bombarded with these companies claiming that they can boost interest in my project. I don't think they can and for people that are desperate to raise funds, these companies take advantage of them - claiming they can help raise the funds - when there just isn't any interest outside family & friends in the project to do so.

I'm from energysquare and we are in the middle of our campaign. We chose to use BackerClub and so far it has not been very helpful. Only 500€, 5 backers. Not what we expected... Maybe it was too soon to use that but for us Product Hunt was far more useful.

I haven't used BackerClub but I've read many good things about them. We'll definitely consider them.
    Thanks for sharing Brian!

Are you paying anything besides the basic cost of $379 if you get funded or do you pay like getting featured and all of their extra stuff from their website?

    BrianGibson wrote:Hello Everyone,

Disclaimer: I am a Kickstarter creator. I am not selling a service. Just trying to inform other creators of a good one.

I know a big question when launching a campaign is "how do I boost traffic or get in front of people?" This is now my 3rd Kickstarter campaign and I have tried a few promotion services. None of them worked before today. The day before yesterday Mark the co-founder of BackerClub contacted me via Twitter. He did the typical "Check out my website" pitch but I noticed something different. He already tweeted my campaign to not only his followers but also BackerClub followers telling them "Everyone go back it." I thought that was awesome so I checked out BackerClub. Turns out they have a pretty good following and I liked their business model. You do not have to pay for their service until your project funds. If your project doesn't fund you don't owe them anything. So I figured what could hurt and submitted my project to them. It was approved and they promoted it yesterday. As of today I have received 101 backers for $3,476 from BackerClub and they keep coming in. The surge of activity sky rocketed me to #1 in the food category and top 20 live projects overall on Kickstarter. So BackerClub works. I have seen some people say that they didn't get anything from BackerClub. Well... if your campaign isn't done well or your product isn't great then nobody will by it regardless of the promotion. BackerClub can only put your campaign in front of active backers. It is your job to make a great campaign that makes the backers get out their wallets.

    Hope this helps someone,
    Brian

    Hi

I read quite a few bad reports about BackerClub? Are they true? Jwen, you seem to have such amazing success using them. I launch a campaign 3 days ago to develop animated cartoon characters to eventually develop a more sustainable source of funding for lions, and other large carnivores in Botswana by tapping into the entertainment industry. But pledges are slow and I am already worried we will not reach our goal. Any tips you can help me with? Thanks!

I have launched my project 2 days ago, first message I received was from I believe somebody from their team offering me to submit to Backersclub.co. I was busy sending messages to my friends and community and a day later I tried to submit.
First, I experienced a few problems while doing that, since I am a Backerclub intern myself it asked me to use a different email, then I could not link to paypal, so I tried a couple of times, finally I wrote to their support, they answered right away and I have sent them a link, just in some time I got the email which said that I did not qualify but they offered me to tweet about my project for a fee. I was upset and asked for what are the reasons. Why do you think they did not? here is my project bit.ly/Marble_KUB, please, comment. Thanks
