Crowdfunding Tips from Kickstarter's VP of Community

    by therriaultk » Tue May 27, 2014 11:41 pm

Kickstarter's VP of Communications, Cindy Au, recently gave some Kickstarter advice and spoke of the platform's success in the gmes category at the Nordic Games in Sweden:

It is really important to be a person on Kickstarter. When you're running a Kickstarter project, it's about you. It's about your team. Kickstarter is your story.

Au shares that Kickstarter's all or nothing system is made to allow people to fail safely, and learn. She also stresses the importance of communication:

Talk to the press in advance, but remember, when speaking to the press, pitch the game, don't pitch Kickstarter. What is your game? What is your story? You want to deliver to them a story they can write.

What do you think of this article?

Definitely agree with her one quote about the need to be a person on Kickstarter. Too many times, I see people trying to essentially create commercials. Not the way to go.
