I have loved my experience so far. Only on day 3. One question I have is how many of you use 3rd party social media marketing? I get so many emails and I am not sure if any are worth it?

Would love for you to check my Kickstarter campaign out: Where does the fox fart?

    All advice welcome.

I will say positive so far with my Rounded Edge Tie Project. The platform is great and user friendly. For Negative, I have not seen one yet with my Project (Project only 10 days old).

I have to say that as a multimedia designer I thought it would be a little easier to figure out the best methods for getting a campaign funded. With my understanding of how the internet works and what causes a page or profile to gain strength is just something I thought I knew but honestly, this is a whole different animal. I am just a few days into my first campaign and I can already tell this is going to be rough.

    What I am learning

    - I am learning that it really doesn't matter if you can get your campaign out to thousands of people. The key is to find the right people that are not only interested in your product, in addition to getting them excited about being a part of it.

:?: I started a campaign a few days ago to raise funds for cancer treatment for my mom who cannot have chemo / radiation due to previous cancer treatment. I found raising the first $100 very difficult, barely any family were able to donate and the most donations came from people, who at some point in the past, have been positively affected by my mother.
We have been stuck on $115 the last few days and even though there are many views I am a little disheartened. Sooo I am now researching how to reach more people.

After 40 days and 18 days to go, I have a positive verdict when it comes to Kickstarter. My project (a Point & Click Adventure) is at 119% so far. There are a few things I've learned:

    1. Set a realistic funding goal: You can make 500 - 1000 EUR with a nice indie game, but you will hardly reach 30.000 EUR. Most games don't even sell that money during their whole lifespan. I set the goal to 420 EUR to compensate only my development costs, which worked out very good so far.

    2. Make not just Advertising but get participate in the communities of your game. You will meet a lot of awesome people who are passionate like you.

    3. Stay honest to your backers! They invest money in you, so they deserve to be treatened with respect and honesty.

    4. Forget about campaigns to collect money for personal consuming. Things like: Give me 1000 EUR for a bigger TV don't work. People expect you to create something with their funds and to get something back from it.

It is the 5th day of my campaign. We had a good start, there are 3 backers so far! It is really exciting. But I still want to find other ways to promote this campaign. I do receive many ad messages, I don't really think it is helpful. Anyway, hope the campaign will meet the goal in the end! ;)

So far it is good. But it needs more ways to promote the campaign.

Hopefully we would reach the goal! :)
