I have found that i honestly do not understand kickstarter.
I do not know what makes people want to follow your ptoject, and sadly, many of the people who know me are in poverty and cannot help.
People offer to market for you for hundreds of dollars but I just can't, I can't even fund this project without support. Ot just makes me sad, I post updates to myself, and I try posting about it everywhere, the lowest donation is a dollar, and no one has stopped by and wanted to even do that. I feel very heartbroken right now to be honest.

here is my campaign if you want to see it, I put my entire heart into it.

My Kickstarter experience has been ok. It's definitely been better than gofundme. On Kickstarter I got backers I didn't know and it was positive to get backers that believed in me and wanted me to succeed. It's hard posting on social media and having none of your friends donate or even comment.

I have a new campaign that's not even a day old yet. I have no donors yet but I'm hopeful.

I really relate to this post, kickstarter in my opinion has a very supportive group of people that come out of no where just to help sometimes, and even if your campaign is not successful, many times they will offer suggestions and advice in order to help your campaign get stronger, and for me that really helped me when I failed and launched a new one, that is still going on right now, It still has potential to fail, as any campaign does, but I have grown so much already: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/21 ... fox-fables

I think the biggest negative for me is seeing how much reach companies have versus individuals.

I know that isn't necessarily a bad thing - yay for them - but I just think their reach and resourcing is so much greater for an individual that it can be hard to compete at times

Negative so far. Launched my campaign and got only 12 backers and half of them canceled their pledge as the campaign started to end. It sat at 12 backers the entire duration of the campaign. I never got past 1% funding. I've seen really bad ideas get 50% or even 75% funding. I hired 2 PR firms to promote it too. Distributors want to buy the product in bulk right now and the CEO of a company wants to use them in all his stores right now. I just need funding to get this product off the ground. Its sad that I have also seen others who have campaigns that have failed as well. http://kck.st/1VZxj4q

I feel like I'm drowning in a sea of information and suffocating in a void of it at the same time!

I've always shied away from internet presence due to that I have Schizophrenia, and it's left me at a standing start instead of a running start. I'm madly researching and learning, but most of it assumes a very healthy initial online presence and network.

Getting THAT is the REAL challenge for me at the moment!

Not negative tho, not negative at all, just highly engaging and frustrating lol.

It's been good so far. I actually just launched my campaign today and I think it's been fine! It's a music-based app that I'm hoping will change the way that people listen to music and hopefully connect people.

I would have to say that my experience with Kickstarter has been mostly positive. This really goes back to my first project(https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/14 ... ?ref=users), which was actually selected for the "Projects We Love" column. The extra exposure led to the project being funded at nearly three times the initial goal. The additional funding was what really allowed The Endangered Alphabets to take off and operate as it has for these past few years. My current campaign (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/14 ... t-to-write) may not have been possible if not for that first campaign back in 2011.

For me it's been a negative experience. Already nearly 2 weeks in I've managed to raise 11%

I'm already preparing for an exit strategy and plan B
