My first Kickstarter experience was when my dad stumbled upon and found the 3Doodler a few years ago - I still have and use it! :D

I have known about Kickstarter and crowdfunding in general for some time. I love the platform and how it can help those of us who are looking to get their project off the ground.

In promoting our Kickstarter pre-launch, I was shocked to learn the amount of people that did not know about Kickstarter, especially the younger generation. I would have assumed even through word-of-mouth or social media that it might have touched many.

I continue to spread the word to many about our project which is now live. Those that have questioned what Kickstarter is now know... :D

I had heard of GoFundMe, but never Kickstarter.

I heard about kickstarter through a client a couple years ago. They had us help film and edit a video for them that they used for their campaign. Although it did take two tries before they got funded, I would like to think that our video we made for them helped in that process.

My colleague and I decided to give it a go and so we are currently left with 26 days to secure the funding we need to make a television/documentary series. The show follows a company that rebuilds and customizes old Airstream trailers along with other RV's for a wide variety of clients. We currently have a rough cut to our title sequence along with the first few minutes of our show on youtube. Pretty much everywhere. Been seeing all these innovative projects like Project Lily (the self flying drone). I hope those disappointing projects did not stop people from backing projects :P

From my friend who backed the first generation Pebble watch. Pebble products took many spots of "most funded" list on Kickstarter, but the company got bought cheap by Fitbit last year for $40m. Talking about how difficult it is to run a business...

I heard about crowdfunding as soon as the first site was up and running - it was plastered all over the news and we at the time were always looking for new angles of raising money for clients.

I first heard about Kickstarter when I heard the "Veroncia Mars Movie" was funded by it. A lot of people gave the creators a lot of heat because they were established people with a voice using a platform meant for unknowns to get funding for their projects.
