Indiegogo is cooler!

There are definitely alot more 'serial backers' and crowdfunding experts on Kickstarter. Indiegogo is more flexible in terms of funding (changing the funding goal, flexible vs fixed, etc.) but they don't have the best reputation as a platform and as a business. I'd recommend Indiegogo if you are in a country that cannot use Kickstarter (yet), but Kickstarter is a more 'solid' platform with many dedicated serial backers as well as a better reputation when it come to helping creators and weeding out the bad projects.

    Cheers!

    Jake.

Not sure why KickStarter has region specific constraints for starting campaigns. IndieGOGO is inclusive. Grateful..

I cannot agree on this. Kickstarter seems to have better exposure

    Hello everyone,
me and my team are also looking to launch a kickstarter campaign early next year. Now this discussion here had me thinking if indiegogo could be an even better option. What would oppose the idea of launching a project on both platforms? Are there any restrictions (like a project is not allowed to be on another platform)? Any experiences? Would be grateful for feedback!

DavidKS, as a consumer, I'll say that based on my current experience, I've been far more impressed by Kickstarter and have funded over 10 on Kickstarter to the tune of many thousands of dollars. I've done an Indiegogo funding and have already had some trouble that I'm still trying to sort out. I am currently doing some research as to the strengths of each but at this stage, Kickstarter seem to be more credible among consumers including myself. Note the comments by others about repeat funders via Kickstarter.

However, I am still keeping an open mind and giving Indiegogo an opportunity .

True how Indiegogo is cooler than Kickstarter.
Most of the backers on Indiegogo are really cool, they just contribute and hoping the creator are honest people that would send them what they paid for, that is why you see not a lot of Indiegogo campaign have comments that either harassing or Mr.Iknoweverything that being judgmental to their creators.

Meanwhile on Kickstarter you will see 1 or 2 backers that they think they know everything about the product more than the creator itself (HAVE NO RESPECT)

With that said I still think any creators that taking advantage of backers trust and doing crowdfunding with intentions to run with their money is the lowest kind of human being in this world.

    - Happy crowdfunding and be respectful to everybody -

Yes, it is better than Kickstarter because it allows all countries.
