    Hi Mike,

I notice your bit.ly link is wrong (one too many "l"s at the end. Is that the link you're using for the campaign? If so, make sure that it's spelled right elsewhere, or even if people are interested they won't find the project!

I've backed a few books, but mainly ones aimed at younger audiences.

Wow, great catch. Thank you. That is horribly embarrassing. I'm glad to hear that there are some out there who do back novels. Most of my backers so far have come from Reddit where it was originally posted.

No worries, that's what this community's here for right? :)

When did you launch? It looks like you may be on track! What sort of promotions are you doing?

I launched it 4 days ago. Only promotion I've done is social media and various forum postings/Reddit.

I guess OP was in search of ideas for a campaign. If you do not do it for passion don't do it at all.

I tend to back art and music projects because that's the subject matter that I like. But, I also look at whether or not the project has a realistic goal, and I look at how well the project is presented on the page. If there are numerous spelling errors, or things that could easily be corrected with just a quick cursory review, I wouldn't likely back that project. It has to be well thought out and sort of cleverly executed. That being said, I know how hard it can be to write the perfect description or to shoot an even mediocre video, especially if the budget is zero. So, I'm inclined to back ideas that are great by individuals who may need a bump up in the world (because I can empathize).

I've backed products that solved a problem I haven't thought of, or didn't know existed, but could
benefit mine or my family's life.

The Menstrual Cup, Reinvented | Lily Cup Compact
    by INTIMINA
-I figured one of my sisters or mom might be interested in it.

Bam Boomerang: Help Kids Learn to Read
-I have a little niece and nephew who will need this soon. This made me think, hey learning to read was a bit hard if they can make it better, it's worth a shot. (No Brain-er)

FLUX: Music that is never the same twice
    by Adrian Belew
-I tend to have a little ADD so I listen to music and work or study, but this is
actually counterproductive; this may solve that problem, because it makes music random
and evolving, (thus could be productive) hey why not show some support!

Made in The Magic City: A Birmingham Documentary Series
    by Ryan Kindahl
-This was different. I did it because it's local.

    My project is VoterFeed
    - It solves a problem that is likely overlooked, and bewildering too.
It creates 60 sec video reports on legislation in Congress.
The website is a combination of Reddit, video reports, polls, and comments; gathering public opinion.

I'd appreciate any feedback, or help sharing my project on facebook too.
    Thanks,

    Hi,

I am a lover of analogue photography and cinematography, so I would back any project, like the recent Ferrania project that would allow me to buy film for another 20 years.
