Thank you guys for very useful post. Can anybody update if Amazon and Kickstarter resolved this issue?
We just started two days ago our campaign:

hope it would not affect us

I haven't experienced something like this, but it's really good to know these types of people exist.

Thank you for the heads up!

Wow, this is a bit scary. Would be great to have a page where creators can list the deadbeats in case there are others!
Advance copies of the second edition of the award-winning "Naughty Paris: A Lady's Guide to the Sexy City" are available through Kickstarter until July 8th! http://bit.ly/naughtyparis

I am part of a two day old project - Petterson Retro - and have already been approached by a MR Richard Simmons, who has offered his help in promoting our campaigne. I shall keep this guy at barge pole length as he seems to fit th eprofile of the very scam artists in your blog

Thanks for the heads up.....Haydn

It is difficult at times knowing fact from fiction. Scammers are tough to spot at first.

Thank you sharing this with us. This is really not fair to any project. Seems like that person is doing it to receive free cool products. I will follow your advice and look at the list of all my backer first at the end of my campaign. Mine is on Indiegogo, but you never know.
