Need Advice: Indiegogo for service based tech start-up?

    by cfipl » Sat Jan 10, 2015 10:28 am

    Hey, I'm looking for advice..

I'm planing to post a crowdfunding project [Peer2Peer] on Indiegogo, This is all about a SERVICE based tech start-up for market which is expected to reach $25 Billion in 2016.

Should we expect pre-launch signups as the funds will help for ongoing software development & operations. Should I go ahead with the plan?

    Please share your thoughts !

    Cheers.

You have not provided anywhere near enough information to for us to judge.

You will need to make people a very compelling offer to get them to sign up pre-launch. You haven't told us what you are going to do so we can't judge. If that isn't blindingly obvious then you should consider whether you have the common sense to run a successful business.

Service based tech startups are notoriously difficult to crowdfund. Those types of projects are more suited to equity based funding (which has its own challenges). I'd recommend spending your time on creating a "proof of concept" and selling the larger vision to angel investors.
