We paid for our project to be included in the backerclub community, which comes with a money back guarantee. If you don't receive $500 in contributions and if your project doesn't get funded then you get a refund for the listing price ($279). We got funded in the first week, so I don't think its due to a poor product. My guess is the audience just isn't targeted to watches.

We also paid to be featured in an email (was the subject of the email), and that flopped. So all in all, if we don't receive $500 in contributions, we'll at least get our $279 back. Currently its at $200+ of contributions.

Wondering if anyone here has had success with these "clubs" or if they're more of sham.

    Hi Egenazia!

I wouldn't call all of these clubs 'shams', but the truth is, most of them aren't worth the money. I am a fan of Backerclub due to the honesty of the staff. I like that they have a straightforward refund policy and are known to stick to it, where others are known to do whatever they can to keep your money. Alot of the campaigns I have worked with have had success with them which is great!

Backerclub seems to have very mixed results and it also seems to be more suited toward campaigns that are raising alot of money and are already on their way to success. As there are so many campaigns on there now, it is like Kickstarter; the smaller campaigns just get lost in the searches.

In the end, each campaign is different, and there is no one service that suits everyone. Ultimately it is up to the creator to make the decision on what to do. With Backerclub's refund policy, I personally do not see a huge risk.

    Cheers!

    Best Regards,

My press release published on Crowdfunding PR is currently in the top-10 sources of traffic to both my blog and my project page. As to Ayudos, they responded to my email very promptly, recommended a range of associated web resources to promote my campaign for free, and sent a free ebook with crowdfunding tips.

The one leading my campaign on Ayudos is Mike Gonzalez, the CEO. I asked him to write a better press-relase than mine was. There was no response for a week, and I was about to remind him of myself when I saw his article about my campaign featured on their main page (http://ayudos.com/)! On the same day, it was also published by Wallstreeter Crowdfunding News.

Salvador Briggman, the CEO of Crowdfunding PR, is regularly sending me updates on the media contacted. During the first week of my campaign, they sent my press-release to 5200 journalists, 600 of whom viewed it.

I don't think I'd ever have time to find and contact so many media representatives myself, so I'd rather transfer it to those who is an expert at it and focus on promotion via social nets and forums instead. The guys from Ayudos and CrowdfundingPR don't really charge much, and I suppose they are much better at contacting media than I am. They do it on a regular basis and are known there, while I am not.

That's awesome that they seemed to work on your behalf, but did it pay off? That is the real question. I'm so scared of putting money into something and not getting enough out of it.

I launched my campaign on indiegogo and in less than 24 hours i received 10 emails suggesting me that they are so kind that they want to help me and promote my campaign. How does it even makes sense to pay money to an unknown company to promote a crowed funding campaign when the reason i am there is money!

I feel that in the past five or so years the scenes have changes to support big business and make it harder and harder for small business to grow.
I never wanted to make a crowd fund for my business to start, so I did it the hard way and travelled all over the state I live in to make lots of pre-sales so I could produce all of my stuff by hand. That worked well for most of a year, and due to how unsupportive the world is of small business these days I decided to make a crowdfund to chip in the last of the effort of growing to a larger scale.
And then to make a campaign and there's a mass of other businesses trying to capitalise off small businesses trying to get past the bracket of the big businesses.

But thanks to all the varying kinds of advice in this thread, I may apply some of it.

I think before paying for anything, you need to take a hard look at your product. Asking questions like:
    - Do I really think anyone will buy it?
    - Are my tiers and goal realistic?
    - Have I made the campaign page. imagery & video the best it can be
    - Does the text make sense and is legible?
    - Do I know who I'm targeting? Did I reach out to influencers before launch? Who actually wants my product & am I targeting them?

We offer paid Crowdfunding services, so it may be strange I'm asking the above questions. It's too easy to "take the money and run" with campaigns, especially campaigners who are desperate and want/need their campaign to work...they end up spending more in the short term (whilst losing out in the long run).

The above questions raised can be managed by a campaign owner for free, it just takes a bit of time and effort.

Then if the campaign launches you could look at specific paid options related to your field, although ideally pre-marketing before the campaign goes live should be done first.

    Hope this helps guys!

Anyone tried funded.today? I heard there is a $2000 fee to have them validate your project. Anyone has success with them?

Funded.Today are a great marketing company and are known to drive alot of pledges to projects. They are expensive and selective of the projects that they take on board as they have contacts relating to specific industries, niches, and categories. I believe they charge around the $2K mark as an upfront fee + 35% of pledges that they bring to your campaign (and you can track their work through your analytics dashboard on Kickstarter).

They seem to have alot of testimonials and a solid track record, working with the creators of some of the biggest Kickstarter projects of all time: https://www.funded.today/get-more-pledges

Please note that I have never worked with them myself, but I have spoken with creators that have and would recommend their services. Feel free to get in touch if you have any other questions! :)

    Hey guys,

have you ever heard or try http://www.get-funded.org/

They look a lot like Backerclub, without the refund policy. Any idea if they are worthy to work with?

    Thanks!

Correct, except for the fee, which is usually higher. The fee pays for 3-10 days of both skilled labor and displaying ads, and a higher price allows more expansive testing. It's always a gamble. Such tests sometimes bring few (if any) pledges, which is sad, and has led to some rather negative reviews online. Other times, the experiments identified a few (or even many) successful ads, which proved to be a very profitable investment, and led to some very positive reviews. You can read some of the latter at www.fundedtodayreviews.com. Those tests are more likely to work well for campaigns that are already doing well without marketing, but there are exceptions on both ends of that spectrum and the only way to know for sure is to try.

Funded Today has worked with nearly 2,000 clients at thist time (late 2017). Although those clients have mostly had projects on Kickstarter, Funded Today stills maintain a big presence on Indiegogo. For most of the last two years, Funded Today dominated the top position in Indiegogo's Partners gallery (see www.indiegogo.com/partners), mostly due to successful Kickstarter campaigns that it helped transition to Indiegogo InDemand. Indiegogo (for now) remains a tougher platform to get both visitors and pledges, and Funded Today claims that they've invariably seen identical campaigns fare worse on Indiegogo than on Kickstarter, which is why they've repeatedly helped some Indiegogo clients to transition to Kickstarter to launch, and (if successful on Kickstarter) then transition back to Indiegogo for InDemand. I've heard that this loss-of-business may be the reason that Indiegogo removed Funded Today from its Partners list this autumn, but I don't know for sure.
I work for Funded Today, which has helped hundreds of crowdfunding projects on Kickstarter and/or Indiegogo to raise over $175,000,000 altogether. How may we help you? Please learn more at www.funded.today and/or www.fundedtodayreviews.com
