    Posts being moved...

    by giftsandcoupons » Wed May 20, 2015 4:46 am

I noticed alot of posts are being moved to the General Chat + Introductions page.
    - Basically it's posts which are self promoting projects usually with a link to their KS page.

Shouldn't you create a new section, perhaps:
    "Promote your New KS Campaign"

So they can post in there? Or take it a set further, ask them to enter their url (like on kicktraq) and generate a post that way.

I know coding/design so could be involved in this. Plus what's the salary like to be a moderator on this board ;)

It's important to be unspammy. Nobody wants to be spammed with promotion.

I haven't noticed that post are being removed, but if they are that is probably the reason.

I totally get campaigns need love and support from backers...but be respectful and try to contribute useful information.

HI FBK, I'm a bit confused as I didn't write about posts being "removed" but "moved", someone starting a topic with self promotion and being moved into the introduction thread...so perhaps there should be a self-promo area on this site.

General Chat + Introduce Yourself section is for users to introduce themselves or their PROJECT. They can also POST PROMOTIONS here or discuss general topics. :)

Yea, self-promo can go in general or "share your story" section.

We are not affiliated with Kickstarter and do not want to duplicate their functionality. People can go to Kickstarter and look at the recently launched projects if they want! The forum is more to serve as a collection of information about what it's like to run a campaign, to share your own experience, to connect with other creators, have some of your questions answered, etc. and for backers to get to know creators in a public way.

    Thanks for the offer though!

Cristina is the only moderator for the board (along with myself) for the time being. Not seeking more, but appreciate the interest :).
