What are your questions about Fulfillment & Shipping?

    by sbriggman » Thu Mar 31, 2016 8:09 pm

    Hey guys!

This is a new forum section and I wanted to get it started by asking you what YOUR questions are about the fulfillment and shipping of your Kickstarter or Indiegogo rewards.

Fulfillrite has agreed to answer ALL of them. And boy, do they have a lot of knowledge. Every time I meet with them, I learn something new about this entire process.

It kind of irks me because there is so much focus on the funds raised for a Kickstarter campaign, when true success only occurs when you've successfully shipped out your rewards or perks.

Hope this section leads to a lot of great resources!

    Sal

I want to add a reward for a 3d printed action figure of the character/s in our upcoming videogame Mirka. Campaign is still being planned. Any idea what it would cost for shipping / 3d printing for backers in US?

    Hi,

In order to give you feedback I'd need some more details. What are the dimensions of the product, weight, does it need to be reboxed?

    Sincerely,
    Joe

It would need to be reboxed, height of 6 inches (15 cm) and 8 inches. Width would be about 3 inches. Weight 150 grams. These are estimates.

    So it's 6"H x 8"L x 3" W?

Is there anything else you will be shipping along with these boxes?

    sorry my bad. 6h x 2 W x 3 L in inches and a second model is 8h x 2.5 w x 3 L. Basically almost standard action figure size.

Assuming the second action figure weights 150 grams for a total of 12 ozs too the cheapest option would be USPS First Class Mail at $4.34,

My question - from the backer side: for European backers of non-European projects it's a REAL hassle to find out the true price we are going to pay in each case - shipping is just a part of the topic (shipping cost are usually stated in the pledging process) but from experience I have learned that nearly always is (the limits are very low) VAT and import duties (which are a real pain to find out since they differ from product to product) to be paid which can raise the cost significantly - in particular since the import duties have to be paid on the pledge plus the shipping fees.
Question: is there any service offered by a fulfillment service that helps with this either by quoting the final cost of kickstarter pledges or in any other way?

    Regards
    Ursula
