You'll get a lot of emails and messages on the Kickstarter from people who promise you hundreds of backers. They are mostly scam. It is difficult to find someone trustworthy. Two services that I've found reliable are: Backersclub and Backershub. They cannot do wonders, but at least it is not a complete waste of money.
Feel free to extend this list.

The one tip I always see is 'preparation' - but after my experience with my first one I don't think I knew what that actually looked like. I've got more of an idea now, but without going through the experience I do think that kind of thing is quite hard

I am about to launch my fourth Kickstarter. I also did an IndieGogo once. Here is my advice.

As I have become more experienced I have learned the value of timing. The first campaign I learned that you don't get to launch the campaign right after you finish writing it all. You have to wait a couple of days for approval. Oops! I had rallied the troops and supporters too early.

Then I learned to anticipate this.

This time though, I am taking a week to do some PR. I'm alerting blogs and magazines about the project BEFORE it launches. Press guys like to get the scoop. We launch next Tuesday, but I've been messaging people all week.

My campaign only started three days ago.

What is the best way to reach my $30K goal by the end of September?

We get asked a lot about how to best partner with pro athletes to promote campaigns. Here are our top 3 tips:
    - Athletes like to feel like they are the first to know, so get in touch before launching your campaign, tell them it will be hot and get them excited for day 1
    - Make sure you integrate an athlete quote for your press release, PR outreach
    - Try and save a sample for them to create some awesome content. The campaign is always more genuine if you see the athlete using your product.

One thing i have learnt from my crowdfunding campaign is that Facebook ads is great way to generate revenue. Serial backers are more likely to spend money than anyone. Up to 60% of my backers are ones who have backed at least 5 projects. A friend recommended me to buy a list of Kickstarter super backers for a good bargain on Fiverr, The list is useful to get some insights about those serial backers in order to run social media ads and only cost for a few Starbucks.

Has anyone used a service on Fiverr to promote their campaign? If so, did you have a good ROI?

    Thanks!

I have run 2 now and they are getting better. We may not have gotten funded yet but we are learning what makes for a good campaign. The pre-launch activities that we performed prior to the second campaign and after adding the lessons that we learned from this one, we will come back stronger.
