One of the panelists was Jai Ranganathan, the cofounder and Executive Director of SciFund Challenge, a nonprofit that trains scientists as to how to use crowdfunding to support their research studies.
Jai is one of the authors of the study, “To Crowdfund Research, Scientists Must Build an Audience for Their Work.” In this paper, the team looked at the results of an experiment where 159 scientists tried crowdfunding as a means to get funding for their research.
