Well, it took all our life force for 5 month. Most of the people think - ah Kickstarter... yeah i can do it, but after you spend loads of money, time and effort - its... not done. Kickstarter is a shark tank with a lot of money that spins around it.
So naturally there is a lot of bottom feeders that offer all sorts of wonderful things to "help" you and to "guide" you. But in fact its all a scam. Unless you have slaved for every day of your campaign and preferably few month before it, then you have a chance on complete funding.

Again we only found out all about it after launch, so naturally we have made a lot of mistakes. First and foremost was no proper preparation before the launch, as it is our first project we had no idea how to create mail list to blast in a launch day. So we made a cock-up there and just launched with massive blast through Facebook paid adds and twitter help from "bottom feeders", which backfired in the middle of the project. So first day we managed about 40% of our goal. Then thing start to die. We couldn't understand why, until backers start to point out our flows. We have listened to suggestions and played with our page to make it more presentable or shall i say more Kickstarter appealing. From then things starter to get more interesting, we had a lot more messages from backers and visits on our page that we monitored with Google Analytics.

Then another wave of backers and more and more. We had to work hard locally to get some retailers on board. Also most amazing thing happened when we starter to look relative groups in Facebook to our game, not just board games groups, but groups related to us - Raccoons. It worked like a charm and almost for no money. Our campaign has been founded in little over 7 days, it was tough, stressful and amazing in the same time - the rush of getting your dream project funded is priceless.

Our advise to new project managers on Kickstarter. Dont use paid promotion offers from "bottom feeders"- use your own head and time to make a great campaign. Dont ever buy mail list - its a scam. Dont ever use twitter paid adverts - its useless, Facebook on the other had is very good, but try to diminish crowd amount when blasting paid adds.

So there you go boys and girls. Short version of our pain. I hope you liked it. Please dont make the same mistakes we did.
