    Sal,
I think it's a great post. I am Jason, the founder of PlanetExpress. We're a fulfillment and parcel forwarding company and I would love to help other members if anyone have any question regarding fulfillment need. Often in time, a lot of kickstarter projects are great but later on could not continue due to fulfillment and logistic problem. We have backed a few kickstarter project and also provided fulfillment services to couple of the kickstarter projects as well. Anything we can do to help, please do not hesitate.

Hello. We are launching our Kickstarter this coming Saturday, Sep, 23rd.
Our project is about publishing a children's book to build empathy among kids in the US, both in digital and physical forms. For more info about our project, please visit our website.

Since we are not going to either publish or deliver the book by ourselves, we are planning to use Bookbaby or Ingram Spark for the production and delivery. However, none of us has done this kind of stuff and we've got some questions about their pricing and services.

    1. After printing the book, do they deliver the book to individual backers or use other retailers? If they are using other retailers, would there be any extra costs?

    2. We just tried a quote for 200 books & ebooks on BookBaby and got $5000, $25 per book & ebook including shipping (Hardcover, 54 pages, one colored picture per page). Can you see any possibilities the costs will be significantly higher than this? We are planning to set our prices at $25 for the book and $10-15 for eBook. Does the pricing look valid?

    3. Our Kickstarter funding ends in the Mid-November. When would be the estimated date for customers to get the book and ebook?

    4. Has any of you used their services for Kickstarter or other projects? How was it? Do you know any other options?

We're also asking the similar questions to them but we're looking for as many advice as possible. Our project is launching this Saturday and we would appreciate immediate reply very much.

    Thank you very much,

Is there a better and more affordable alternative for shipping other than USPS? The shipping costs alone in my kickstarter might costs more than the products being shipped.

I have been using https://planetexpress.com/fulfillment-center/ for more than four months. They are offering relatively low price. Their provider for boxes and packaging material is Uline. You can exact price quote by using their pricing calculator.

One question that I had was, is it more beneficial to have your fulfillment be directly after your Kickstarter ends or a month after?

I'm not sure how to ask the company about it, so I might ask the question here.

I have started to use the services of https://planetexpress.com/ for a while now. But I wanted to know about their discount offers. I mean, if I were to subscribe for a fulfillment and shipping for more than 3 months or something, would they gonna be interested to make an attractive discount for me?

When running a campaign, is it better to offer worldwide delivery of your rewards for an additional fee to every backer? Or simple offer rewards to your national residence and areas you know you can provide delivery to with little expense to your backers?
Launching a project summer 2018 and i feel this is a key aspect.

    Many thanks.

Still undecided whether I should use the Australia Post "Padded Bag" (https://shop.auspost.com.au/product/pad ... 2mm-90001m) or if I should order some boxes in order to ship my 8 x 10 inch children's book.

The boxes seem to only come in 8x10x4inch width (from officeworks and from Amazon orders) variety as the smallest size... which seems to be way too big? A major number of my pledges are only 1 to 2 book shipments!

Thanks for any advice in advance!

I would also be interested for an Australian service. In addition to finding out what shipping provider was used for international shipping
