That its not as simple as you thought. I just want to be here, on the latest post, and this action will prove 2 things :

1. Its important to have presence within relevant topic, which then you guys will realise I have my siggy below this post telling you about my other posts.

2. You are here to learn about others experience, but realised 50% of it are people who were trying to promote their campaign... and now you hate them. So, dont do that. Do not spam other forums/posts/comments/pages of KS with different niche than yours.

My comment is more of a question than an observation. I'm new to crowdfunding and I was wondering if "product"-based campaigns have better luck that "service" ones? I'm trying to open a language school and since there's no final product per se, I wonder if it's going to be more challenging. Anyone who had experience with "service" campaigns? What is the best strategy? Thank you!

My co-workers and I have learned plenty, not from running our own crowdfunding campaigns so much as helping nearly 2,000 other people to run theirs. What we've learned is far too much to share in a single comment, but you can find some of the highlights of it presented here...

I work for Funded Today, which has helped hundreds of crowdfunding projects on Kickstarter and/or Indiegogo to raise over $175,000,000 altogether. How may we help you? Please learn more at www.funded.today and/or www.fundedtodayreviews.com

Hi guys,
Our first launch was a fail, hence a great lesson!
What we've learned:
- choose a good moment to launch (middle of Xmas is NOT a good moment!)
- do homework BEFORE launching, do not count a great idea will promote itself
- connect with people, gather emails, reach out to journalists at least a month before launching
- plan an advertising budget of at least a 1000 USD, preferably much more
- do not trust every spammy email you get - people will offer you hundreds of backers without any genuine interest or advice in your campaign and success
- master social media, an agency will not do it for you or it will cost a fortune

More lessons coming soon as we'll relaunch!
