Some updates for the latest screenshot :

As you can see, this is the latest sponsored ads by New On Kickstarter fanpage. I am not one of the fan for this page, but I can still see the ads. This is because whenever we create ads on fb, we can choose to target our audience by minimizing the audience and target those who already liked one of our pages. In this case, while I am never liked the "New On Kickstarter" page, I am connected to it through "My Top Kickstarter Projects".

    So, the numbers is :

My Top Kickstarter Projects : 176,204 likes at the moment
New On Kickstarter : 26,511 likes at the moment

Looking at this number we can conclude that FT (Funded Today) realizes that their old page with more likes does not have good response to their ads anymore. So they created another page, targeting the past audience, to minimize their losses. Now, why is that? Let us break down the numbers. This is going to be fun.

Imagine spending $100 to 176,000 people.
Now imagine spending $100 to 26,000 people.

What we understand is the larger audience will get less money on them compared to small one.

Now, this is not the case.

The real system should be, they spend equally on both audience. For example if the recommended settings for fb ads was $0.20 per person, $100.00 should buy them the group focus of as much as 500 people.

Now, spending $100 on both target audience separately, meaning they will manage to reach up to 500 people from both audience.

Which on will be more profitable? The small one of course. Because when they made the new page, they target the audience related with the old page as I mentioned before. So from the 176k people, those who usually responds to the ad and pledge a project on Kickstarter was around 26,000 (the numbers on the newer page).

At first, the money spent on it will be considered a bad investment. Since considering they spent $0.20 per person, reaching to 176,000 people will cost them roughly $35,200.

BUT, now they manage to minimize the target audience to 26k. Benefits? Of course this 26k people are the one who responding to their ads which means they have higher conversion rate than before now! So what is the new number? $0.20 per person for 26k = $5,200

So if you minus them with the average money they usually spend to reach the larger audience which LOWER response rate, they actually save at least $30,000 for every ads made and not to mention a new target audience with much much higher response rate! This is because the $30k was before spent to the wrong people who never respond to such ads anymore.

So how will all this information helps you. First of all, there is nothing new to this. But the absence of good example, or the connection between your understanding of these formula and systems with marketing, or maybe you are just too lazy to learn new things are the reason why you dont come up with such idea for your own crowdfunding project.

Create an audience. Connect. So you have limited funds? Or you want to be more efficient on spending your hard earned money? Minimize, target the latest audience, not a penny will go to waste. It will all be well spent. See how much you can learn by doing enough research? Goodluck everybody.

Actually I think project owners need to take a step back. It's great to get support but at the end of the day, it's down to what you're trying to raise

There's stats like 60%+ of all campaigns fail...it could be due to lack of publicity, promotion, no outreach or could be at the end of the day the project is crap :)

If you've identified a target market, tested it out amongst family/friends, then strangers...and they like, then you've got a possibility of a winner campaign.

Nope. In your context, I am not right. We have a totally different opinion on this.

You are suggesting that project owners need to take a step back. Maybe you gently means they can have a good rest after spending time improving a product. But from my point of view, you are suggesting them to let the other handle the promotions and marketing for their product.

Its not down to what you are trying to raise. What you are talking about is bias to project owners. What about the contributors? This is just like click bait scams. Fishing for support are not the same as earning them. The context alone sends you the different visual for the situation.

Fishing for fish = chances is the fish might get away even after eating your bait
Earning them = you work hard. the fish are now given to you. you earned them.

What most campaign promoters or marketing agencies do is fishing for support. They SHOULD NEVER EVER promise their client anything...but they did! I can do this I can do that. But when the fish get away even after eating the bait, they just told you to rub it off.

"I am sorry maybe your project are not good enough"

So why the hell do you promise that you can make a difference back then. That's the issue we have for all marketing agencies. Hyperstarter, I understand your business module. So why dont you share me here, for the others to get a straight out view and tell us why you are different.

If I am looking for marketing agencies, I want them to share the same sentiment for my project.

Thats how McDonald stays with the same advertising company for like forever.

The same goes with Apple, Ikea, and Microsoft.

Theres no way to tell if one can prove they do share the same sentiment towards our project/product. But I am sure as hell running errands is not one of them.

Again, hyperstarter, do not get offended by my comment. I am being straightforward with this and you should too. Hate me if you have to I dont have any ill feelings towards your company. I am just trying to convince the majority of project owners to treat their baby well. thats all.

No I don't have you or am offended, not sure how you offended me. I'm not sure if you confused Hyperstarter with someone else, as we never make guarantees but clearly state that we'll use reports, record everything that's been done and talk to the campaign owner as much as possible - we've had some great reviews with a roundup from last year at:
    http://www.hyperstarter.com/2016

I really do want to stick to my point of campaign owners taking a step back, which means take a rest and a fresh approach to what they're doing (I didn't mean step back and hire an agency). I'd advocate campaign owners do as much as possible, running a campaign is really hard. Step up the ground work, connect with people and gain comments on whatever it is you're crowdfunding.

How Hyperstarter is different is that the site tests campaigns and gives advice for free. The next stage is working "hands on" with campaign owners at all stages of the campaign. I've never used a FB/Google/Twitter Ad in any of the campaigns I worked on personally, so that's probably refreshing :) Instead, doing good ol' solid pitching and connecting with influencers.

...Just wanted to clear this up.
