The best ROI we got was from cross-promoting on other Kickstarters updates, using https://crowd.pr/, and https://www.backerkit.com/ newsletters.

I heard KS have a problem with funds transfer recently. Is it true?

    Hey there, this is Aaron.

Thanks for posting such an informative analysis. Definitely, it helps out a lot of people out there who has zero clues of how the crowdfunding PR firms work in general. In fact, they often eat up a big chunk of money from you and spend a little on promoting your project. Also, by right you understand your project more than they do, why hiring somebody who doesn't fully understand your product themselves, while hoping they can target the right audience on your behalf?

The key part here is to spend $$ on targeting the right audience, period.

As I have been in this field for a while already, I do have some other trick for project creators too!
Here is my tip to spend significant lesser money by DIY your own crowdfunding promotion, all by yourself.

    Trick #1
First, you must know your audience. This is easy. I am pretty sure you know who is going to be your buyers. Let's say, you are selling a gaming mouse. Your right target audience should be someone who is young, perhaps below 30 years old, male, interested in pc games, equipment gears, a location with many students, and so on. Playing with your ads by creating a few different variation, spend little for each, from there onward you will slowly but surely find the ads that work out the best for you. What's more? Scale up!
Also, you may want to use a free online tool like SpyFu to target your competitor Adwords, what works for them will somehow work for you too! Learn and experiment with the ads. Spying on how people do the app will greatly improve your skills over time.

Let me know your ROI and conversion. It works very well for me.

Thanks for this post. You have broadened my understanding of the FB adds more in this one artical than any other given artical I have read on the subject while also keeping it readable and not too dry/technical.

    Thanks again for your dilligence.

So do any of those sites actually produce results if you pay them for a press release?

    it depends.

the aim for making these press releases is to create raise confidence for buyers. not getting sales. do not get those mixed up.
