One lesson I definitely learnt is that: prepare early! and talk to as many as people who has experience on Kickstarter as possible. Make the video fun, since lots of the backers are looking for a toy to play with.

I started my campaign: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/tr ... intage-edg

I only did about 2 months worth of advertising. I read online and also another friend told me I should've at least done 5months to a year of promoting the prject. Wish i have done that as I'm scared I may not reach the goal o.O

Also definitely utilize twitter. people are very active and engaging with your brand on twitter compared to most other social media platforms.

Facebook ads definitely helps too. facebook is great because it has user profiles which pretty much tell you what kind of person they are. So you can choose your demographic and only spend money on advertising to possible prospects that fit your category.

One thing that was useful was a way to reliably get hard-goods submitted to physical locations to link easily back to the campaign. So on all physical promotional materials here in town have added QR-Code labels for both Kickstarter and my Social Media platform (Twitter). Ours is a book that has really dramatic presence in person, and we really wanted to make sure anyone who was taken by actual physical samples could easily get back to the sales front.

Most QR sites charge 20 or so, but with a little digging found one that was totally free. This is especially awesome for Kickstarter where the links are HUGE!!

One thing i have learnt from my crowdfunding campaign is that Facebook ads is great way to generate revenue. Serial backers are more likely to spend money than anyone. Up to 60% of my backers are ones who have backed at least 5 projects. A friend recommended me to buy a list of Kickstarter super backers for a good bargain on Fiverr, The list is useful to get some insights about those serial backers in order to run social media ads and only cost for a few Starbucks.

Building an audience has been a very challenging objective.

The best way is to start backing up projects yourself! At least showing some love, supporting different campaigns and contacting the creators to offer your support! This is a way of a win-win situation.

Get your social media straight and start building momentum! Start contacting possible backers. Let them review your website, telling them to leave a feedback on it. Telling them your story and how you plan to overcome it! We are going by these principles, since our campaign is launching soon. As a matter fact, if you can please leave us your feedback! This would mean a lot to us, to see where we can get better. We would love to hear from you.

This is all really good.

It's preparing me for how much time I'll realistically need to invest for my project to be successful.

Kickstarter is the finish of your project, not the beginning. So prepare and work towards your KS as if it's your goal and not just your method to get your product funded.

(of course for your product getting funded is the beginning)
Currently live on Kickstarter with Robusto: 70s Futuristic Titanium Watch. Stronger than Steel.. Funded in 24 hours, yay!

Our project has only been running for a couple of days. However the main thing as learned is people you do not know personally will contribute to your Kickstarter before your "close friends and family will."

So I am thankful for the "angels" who have helped so far.
