I am really enjoying this thread and learning about what everyone is doing. I am going to look at the project links now!

    What is your day job?

I am a biological electron microscopist. I run a bioimaging facility at a university, train users, teach students, maintain equipment (I don't think i have ever used tool as much as after I started this job, and that is from someone who used to take her car engine apart with her stepfather), lecture on microscopy, give public talks, science outreach and do a variety of microscopy consultancy work as well as conduct and publish my own research. Love my job.

    What is your passion project?

I have so many passions that it is difficult to pin them down! I really enjoy science outreach and I spend a fair amount of time doing artwork from electron microscopy images. My first kickstarter involved producing a calendar from my images. I am teaching myself 3D modelling. I have a current kickstarter where I have combined both of these into producing a range of microscopy based 3D printed jewellery that is based around human chromosomes. I am building my own 3D printer and am about to embark on an ambitious 3D printed science art project for a science festival later on this year. I try to blog and post on my websites when I can and am usually found on Google+ and Twitter. I like to quilt and paint (pet portraits mostly) in my free time, but I keep these type of things fairly private.

I would like to earn more for what I do, hence the kickstarters. I have a company interested in launching my jewellery properly after the kickstarter ends, so it may happen. In the mean time I am just enjoying doing anything that captures my interest!

I walk dogs! It's a great gig and gives me time to think about my passions and plan things. I suppose my current passion project is the thing I'm currently running a Kickstarter for. It's called Big Ass Rainbow and it's an art book about butts!

Thanks for asking such a thought-provoking question! My day job is as a free-lance musician. I do a ton of different odd jobs, ranging from music directing amateur shows to vocal coaching to playing cocktail piano or church services. My passion project is my songwriting - so far I've had a bit of success with writing for children (educational music and children's musicals), but I also write topical comedy songs for adults. For the past 19 months, I've written and posted a new song inspired by current events every single week, which has gained subscribers & nice comments for my youTube channel but no renumeration so far. So I'm launching a Kickstarter campaign (going live March 1) to record an album of 'greatest hits' from these weekly songs. (And I've loved seeing the tips and articles on this site as I prepare to launch!)

    Hi!

I am an architect, fond of 3D-modeling. I want to do 3D printing, in the future I plan to open a project to raise funds to purchase a 3D printer.
The purpose of the project - the creation of the simple things everyday essentials of renewable resources (PLA plastic), the idea that anyone could print thing at home, not possessing special skills, everything to be just, clear and concisely!

Hi all, my day job is a low carbon and renewable energy specialist for a construction company.

My passion is a game changing CAD application for the iPad. The aim is to show that it is possible and can work. We believe it can and are way past proof of concept and will be launching the project on Kickstarter on 03/03/14. :D

I'm a freelance game artist. Mainly apps, board games and some computer games. (AKA - Stay at home wife with an amazing huddy)

My passion has always been my art and tech. I paint, craft, and love to make games (digital and tabletop).

I currently just became "Funded" on my first KS for my first game Zambies with 3 days to go! If all goes well I hope to run more KSers for a few more games.
