    Cholesterol and Roast potatoes

    by Zeero » Mon Feb 23, 2026 9:48 am

Strictly speaking some might consider cooking, not as a hobby.

When it comes to health I find nutrition fascinating.

So I do consider it a hobby.

So my latest health drive is upping my game against cholesterol.

I eat healthy, but not healthy enough it seems as I'm told I need to ho on Statins.

So I'm upping my game when it comes to health.

The wonderful news is that Roast potatoes are not necessarily bad for cholesterol or type 2 diabetes.

I've found that potatoes themselves have zero cholesterol, so the culprit is the fat you add. I par‑boil, toss the wedges in a drizzle of olive oil or a spray, keep the skins on and roast on high heat for crispness. This way they stay tasty and cholesterol‑friendly. I also get recipe ideas from https://www.reddit.com/r/mealprep/comme ... ting_of_1/ when I’m looking for low‑fat meal inspiration.
