    Gambling, especially on sports

I’m not a gambler, and really haven’t thought much about it until the recent Brendan Sorsby situation. If you’re not familiar with, Sorsby is a Senior quarterback who committed this year to Texas Tech. For a lot of money. After that it was revealed that he had gambled on sports, a lot, including his own team when he was at Indiana. He claimed an addiction and was admitted to a recovery program. Betting on your team is automatic disqualification by the NCAA. This was appealed, and a Texas judge ruled that if he wasn’t allowed to play it would be harmful to his well being and granted an injunction that required he sit out the first two games but is then eligible.

I, and most of the country, are opposed to the ruling that allows him to play. The case is far from settled, but has far reaching implications. Athletes betting on their teams has always been the absolute line that you may not cross. If he’s allowed to play, then we are saying an addiction excuses your actions. What’s next? The alcoholic who kills somebody while driving drunk isn’t responsible? The pedophile is excused because he can’t help it?

The Big 12 and NCAA have filed for appeal and asked for a ruling before football season. Good for them! Several other teams have said they will not play Tech in any sport. Good for them!

I’m a Texas Tech fan. But they’re wrong on this one.

Finally, we “limit” other addictive behaviors. Why not gambling?

I don't gamble, but if someone wants to throw away their money, that's their business. The house always wins.

I've been using toto for my sports bets and it's made things way simpler
The odds and tips are straightforward, which helps when you're trying to stay on top of your game
Give it a try if you want something reliable that cuts through the noise
