Does my project need to be on Kickstarter to participate, or can it be on another funding platform?

I misunderstood that this forum was strictly for projects on Kickstarter (which I found out after starting a thread about my project), and first took "Kickstarter" for a more generic term, like using "Kleenex" when asking for a tissue of any brand.

Just backed the "Infinite Horizons: Limited Edition Fantasy Art Giclees" project! Looks great, Ulysses!

Thanks everyone for the pledges!! And thanks Vapor for not only helping me financially out of pocket, but boosting the metrics!! My little engine that could is almost 150% funded, and there are 4 days left! Also, because of all of you I am ranked 5th most popular on Kicktraq's hotlist in the all encompassing Art category!!

I still have no idea how Kictraq ranks their Hot List, there is a project by sketchcraft that is almost at the 20k mark and DONT get how they rank me higher? /
