Long sleeve jersey for cool weather

    by charli55 » Mon Mar 23, 2026 1:19 pm

Any recommendations for cool weather long sleeve jerseys?

Something good for maybe up to 50 degrees and if cold I can add layers. I typically don’t ride if it’s below 40 although I will start in temps like 35 if it’s going to warm up a bit. I have a winter jersey from neopro cycling which is nice but it’s very warm so I start roasting.

I’m considering something like this wool jersey from Voler. Breathable. Reasonably warm but not too warm.

Jumping in on this older post because I’ve had good luck with mid-weight thermal jerseys from Castelli and Pearl Izumi for that 40–50 degree range. They’re warm enough on their own but still breathe well, and you can add a light base layer if it’s closer to the mid‑30s. Has anyone here tried the newer lightweight wool blends? Curious if they handle moisture better on longer rides.

I’ve ordered a custom cycling jersey before, and what sold me was being able to add my name and our team logo without needing a big group order. The moisture-wicking fabric held up great on long summer rides, and the rear pockets were super handy. If you’re trying to get your crew looking coordinated, this is an easy way to do it, and the GET10 code knocked a bit off the price.
