Virtual office service or lawyer first?

    by bxbhulk » Wed Apr 22, 2026 10:38 pm

    Many of our clients ask:

should they go to a lawyer first and find a registered office later,
or should they sign the registered office service contract first, so the lawyer can enter the address into the documents?
:pushpin: Short answer: it is advisable to sign the registered office service contract first.

This also works if the company does not yet exist (is under formation), or if the data required for the modification (e.g. new representative) is not yet available.

Why is it better to arrange the registered office first?
The lawyer can only enter the registered office address into the articles of association if the right to use the address is already granted (i.e. there is a valid contract)
Missing company data (e.g. tax number, company registration number) can be added later
The registered office service contract already prepares the company documents (e.g. postal authorization, letter of acceptance), making the company formation or modification faster and smoother
Step-by-step process of signing the contract
    You send us:

the registered office service contract (even with incomplete data)
your ID card + address card
    the original postal authorization
You pay the registered office service fee:
    SzékhelySzolgálat Kft. (ERSTE Bank)
    Account number: 11600006-00000000-43332319
Note: name of the contracting company

Your lawyer enters our registered office address into the articles of association / deed of foundation

You sign the identification form and the founding documents at the lawyer’s office

    You send us:

    the signed identification form
the articles of association / deed of foundation
the specimen signature (or signature sample)
We send back the letter of acceptance and the complete, valid registered office service documentation

I usually sort out the registered office contract first, because then the lawyer can add the address right away and things move faster with the paperwork.

Sorting the office address first has saved me a ton of back-and-forth with lawyers, since they can plug it straight into the paperwork without delays. I’ve used clydeoffices.co.uk for this, and having the address ready ahead of time made the whole setup smoother and quicker, especially during company changes.
