I'm in the middle of what has been a pretty successful campaign for the Porter Key Knife (everyman.us/kickstarter).

For us there have been a couple things that have been huge for us. First, we spent some money to have our video done right. It seems a professional video has helped portray a quality product and resulted in very high view to conversion rates.

The best we did was purchase a press contact list from prand.co. We bought it before we started the campaign and spent a few hours the night before our campaign launched writing emails to the contacts on the list, following their "best practices" document that they include when you purchase. What's great about their list is that there's a good mix of huge stuff that if you get will fund your campaign within the hour (Gizmodo, Lifehacker, TechCrunch, Uncrate) and then more attainable stuff that causes a solid trickle throughout your campaign (Cool Material, Gear Patrol, Gear Junkie). For us we got a bunch of the attainable stuff and one of the big dogs and it's accounted for 40% of our sales so far ($20K). The list was only $99 (granted we still had to send out the emails ourselves, but it's responsible for over $20K! Also worth noting, we didn't even email everyone on the list, just the ones that we felt we had a solid chance at.

Second, we used a gmail plugin called Streak that allowed us to track what emails had been opened/viewed. Based on that info we re-reached out to a handful of the sites again half way through our campaign. It was nice having a second wave of press half way through.

Hope some of that is helpful! And good luck to those in the middle of campaigns and to those who are about to start!

i bet you are a bogus account who tried to promote prand.co...it sucks. do your research sir.

I've always been wary of the "companies" that drop comments all over my campaign page. However, it does seem like there must be one or two legitimate crowdfunding promotional services.

Still, as someone alluded to in this topic, it's really best just to do it all yourself unless you find a service that is extremely reputable. My experience so far with press release distribution has been spotty at best.

I am waiting for reviews Dear Maxus5000. I want to know the benefits of using Krowdster services.

As a seller of Crowdfunding services myself, I know where the lack of trust comes from.

I wouldn't mind someone just reviewing all the major ones, then giving their honest feedback for each campaign, price, number of hits/signups/backers.

It is so hard to get a legit crowdfunding service that can help you with your campaign, then everything is going back to your campaign it self :)
If anyone that have recommendation on a good crowdfunding campaign service please share, I would like to check and see how they work. Thanks.

Sure here's some recommended by The Gadget Flow, it depends on your target audience really. They gave us (Gifts & Coupons) a nice mention on their top 10 list too:

    Hello all,

We've just subscribed to the services of both Ayudos and CrowdfundingPR for our Indiegogo campaign (http://igg.me/at/gamentio/x/12498885) based on the recommendations on this thread. Let's wait and see how does it fare!

    Thanks.

That's not a great start with a self-promoting post for your first one ;/
