It's really cheap and easy to set up a simple page, you don't need much. I am a web developer and user experience designer but I decided that our website is as simple as it can be: http://getleano.com/ Our goal is to send people to Kickstarter page where they have full description but they can find contact on our website.

Domain costs less than $10 and there are very cheap services out there to create a website without any extra knowledge.

Great points. Has anyone used the gadget flow? I am unsure if it is worth the cost.

I think the KickStarter image is crucial, you can't have too much text and it needs to be eye catching.
