It depends on the account, I wouldn't personally invest on Instagram but if you have a friend that has tons of followers it might increase exposure.

I hear that the successful Kickstarter projects get a lot of funding during the first few days....I wonder how common it is for a Kickstarter project to start slowly the first few days and then ramp up in a week or two as the word gets out?
