Honestly, the biggest thing I’ve learned from my own campaigns is that you can't just launch and hope people find you; you really have to bring your own crowd to the party. I spent months building up a small email list and teasing the project on social media before I even hit "go." It felt like a lot of extra work at the time, but having that initial surge of backers on day one is what actually gets you noticed by the Kickstarter algorithm. If you aren't already at 30% of your goal within the first 48 hours, it’s a steep uphill battle, so focus all your energy on that pre-launch momentum.
