Thanks for the advice! we're coming in with a strong email list from the industry we're established in, as well as some grassroots work we've been putting in for the last couple of months. Is it best to prep your email audience before the launch, or just touch them on day one of the campaign and then again midway through (we're a little concerned about burning the list out with too many emails)?

I agree. Email lists are essential. What do you guys think about buying emails like the lists offered by Krowdster, and other PR companies?

The data offered by Krowdster is not very helpful because it does not include email addresses. You are buying a list of names and facebook profile links... Not very useful.

Thanks for the article. Totally agree preparation is key and email is very important. If you have a good email list on Kickstarter Backers then you can begin a Kickstarter campaign successfully.

My advice is just to light one up, and then do whatever comes to mind!

It was so important that I began growing my email list about 3 months in advance of my campaigns. The best way to do this is to run facebook ads from what I have seen it works quite well.
