Day 6, almost halfway there :)

Hi, my project is for Bar Dog, a humorous webcomic where people vote on what happens next. The main character is a dog who lives in a bar. I'm raising money to hire a developer and designer to build a really fun website. Right now, I'm almost halfway funded with 25 days to go. My goal is $10K.

I got a big initial surge, then a lull, then it's started to pick up a bit and I got my first blog mention yesterday. The blog mention came out of a personal email I wrote to one of the blog writers. So I'll be sending similar personal emails to more blog writers. I think it was good to wait until after the initial surge to contact blog writers because, from what I've read, they like to report on projects that are doing well.

I also went to a comics convention this past weekend and did a lot of in-person networking and showing my project around in person. That seemed to generate interest, and I got laughs, quite a few email addresses and business cards so that I can follow up and remind people about it. One person backed my project right at the con on his Kickstarter app, which was awesome.

I also decided to have a party two weeks out and I'm offering a few new alt rewards this week, based on images people really liked from the campaign.

I've done some Facebook ads, but I'm not sure how successful those really were. I think they'll be useful down the road, in building a following for the webcomic once the site is built. I have a lot of likes, close to 2500, but they are not converting to backers. Most of my backers so far came out of my network and networks of friends and family. A few new ones came from Kickstarter. Although one thing to consider—my project is a comics project, and I think this situation may be very different for a tech project. I know another entrepreneur who had very good conversion from his Facebook followers, but he was doing a very tech-y wallet, so it was a completely different kind of audience.

You can see the project here. I think you'll really enjoy it, especially if you're a dog lover:

I hope my information is helpful to others and thanks for taking a look at my project!

Wow is all I can say!

Firstly, you really need to integrate one of your sketches in this post plus you need a better description on this post too as comics are really popular. It'll attract backers for sure! I attached one of your pictures from your comic that I like (in case you don't know how to do it):

I like everything about your KS campaign. I think to get more backers you need to open up the $500 pledges a bit more though. People would love a custom drawing from you, I think you should keep 100 slots open to be honest!

My thinking is that if it's a weekly (or daily) site with new drawings, how are you going to keep up with the demands of drawing and colouring.

As a fellow artist myself, I really really like this campaign.

- Also have you contacted guys like:
