Legit PR companies that will promote Kickstarter campaign

Anyone know of some legit PR companies (such as funded today or backerclub) to help with a campaign that has about 12 days left? I'm at 63% of my funding goal, and I have little to no budget to spend on marketing/advertising so I'd appreciate any type of feedback on this :) Originally wanted to try out funded today, but they asked for a $2,500 upfront fee which is pretty ridiculous. I like the idea of backerclub but I'm really trying to get more press coverage rather than backers at this point. I believe I have a noteworthy story to tell and would like help sharing it in hopes that it'll inspire others.

Hi Sharon,

*Wow I didn't know Funded.Today charged so much, I thought they only took a % from the amount they raise!*

Regarding Vanessa's mention of influencers above, I put together a free list of the Top 100 Crowdfunding Influencers - hope it helps!:

As a company I don't want to be associated with being "cheap" but I've looked over your campaign and I think I can help. I think it's a really great cause & great idea. Can you PM me or email me directly and I can go through how to help: email@hyperstarter.com

Thank you for the list of influencers and advice. We are launching our campaign within the next 2 months, so will definitely use this list liberally - but with due care and diligence on how to approach appropriately.
As far as PR firms, we have just engaged Pressfriendly to run our PR. So far so good and I will post updates as to how they perform through the campaign.

Good luck with it, looks good but the price on their site for $499 doesn't seem that cheap :)

Also their site's logo looks alot like the company Smoko Inc's on this board (member3487.html) and pretty sure seen that robot on their page someplace else...

Would be interested in hearing your updates.

Hyperstarter, it's been a while, but we're back. We had some R&D challenges with our product, but have perfected the prototype and are launching on Kickstarter on May 16th. I said I'd provide updates on pressfriendly, and my first update is extremely positive. They were totally understanding of our particular situation and have re-engaged seamlessly and applied the unused budget from our original engagement to what we're doing now. So far every interaction has been nothing but professional and valuable. Now we head into the execution phase, so we'll see what happens then.

Sounds good. Although we spoke on the phone months back too, so thought we could of worked with you too. Let me know how you get on and perhaps we can speak later if you need any help.

Hehe I thought something was wrong when I saw:
"i would suggest backercamp"

Hmm. I remembered seeing this "Avoid Backer Camp" by Lowkey!:
http://www.kickstarterforum.org/avoid-backer-camp-yeap-thats-my-advice-learn-why-t7142.html
"Why is this bad? Because its deceitful. Future clients will get excited with the numbers, the success story and thennnnn shits happen."

Wait a moment, how about Lowkey's recommendation of " thegadgetflow for tech/design project ONLY":
http://www.kickstarterforum.org/post35563.html#p35400
"Beside the usual active users, you can see our fellow good friends all have only 1 post and thats about TGF being the best agencies to work with. Funny thing is lots of other disagree."

I think the lesson here is to NOT call out agencies until you've done your research. I think Lowkey is a really useful member of this board and his comments are to the point and direct. But at times they're also misguided and seems to be spur-of-the-moment.

I'd suggest, make up your own mind - do your own background checks and homework. I think Backercamp, FundedToday and Gadgetflow are great agencies, but that's based on personal experience of dealing with them over time.
