I am a Kickstarter addict, if you can't tell.

Most people haven't heard about Kickstarter or crowdfunding, so how did you first hear about it?

What got you into crowdfunding?

The first Kickstarters I heard about were for board games, years ago. But now that we're trying to get a feature length film started, this seemed like a very viable fundraiser. Great forum!

It must have been because of the Occulus Rift that I first heard about crowdfunding, as the incredible performance of that project pretty much swept through all the news channels at the time!

I first heard about KS from an artist friend in 2012 who was starting a gallery in his back yard in Wisconsin - it was the perfect introduction, and the format of the fundraising perfectly fit the project - completely DIY. I've supported 10 projects since, all things that people truly care about and are invested in.

I launched my first campaign today, a children's book about dealing with darker moods, and am amazed at the response - truly exciting! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/sc ... e-melangui

I first heard about crowd funding, when I started our comic The Acryden. Another comic creator- Jason Brubaker, from remind. Would post like crazy. He had an amazing blog, huge following, and really detailed everything about getting a comic off the ground.

Ads promoting kickstarter projects were what eventually lured me in. Having seen an ad on facebook for an innovative new product (time and oak whiskey elements), I linked into the site and became acquainted with it's function.

It's actually pretty slick. Kickstarter doesn't have to advertise their service because all of their clients do it for them!

I actually discovered Kickstarter through a campaign that the creator of "The Order of the Stick" webcomic launched, some years back now. Kickstarter is a wonderful platform, and I've been spending more time in it these days :) I'm glad it exists, as it makes things easier for people trying to get started, especially in traditionally difficult, creative-based areas.

Hi!
My name is Gonzalo.
2 years ago my partner Lisandro and I published our first game thanks to VERKAMI, a spanish crowdfunding platform. We knew crowdfunding, and since then, we had always in mind!

Now, after two more failed attempts, our third Kickstarter campaign is active. And hopefully the third time lucky!
(I don't know if the link to the campaign is permitted here... but:http://kck.st/1I2vEDR)

I love Crowdfunding, but i discovered that the succeed is more difficult than appears...

Thanks!

Well, I discovered kickstarter and indiegogo when I was still studying in college. Looking how other startups raised so much money for their project, I really believe in the potential of crowdfunding.
