I'm yet to back a project, due to financial restrictions but in the future I really look forward to backing awesome campaigns, whether they be a new video game, an invention I find cool and would possibly use myself OR just something that I genuinely think is a good idea!

1. I have backed 10 projects and created 2
2. I usually back them because I am intrigued by what they've come up with and because I like supporting small business.

This is the first time I have used crowd funding and just getting into the hang of things. I definitely plan to support many of folks once I get my project going. Its so exciting to know that there are people out there that can help others, many they have never even met.

but normally i pick video game projects.

I've backed 3. Most recently it was PurposeMatch, which is building software to match people with classes and opportunities to live their passions. Unfortunately PurposeMatch didn't get fully funded but the creators are still working on it.

In general I back projects to support people I respect, not for the rewards.

I've backed 5 already, all of them are video game related.

2 of them didn't met their goals though.

Two of the most recent projects that I've backed are:

2) a cookie baker that draws the artwork on her packaging herself. I backed this one because a) cookies and tea go great together, b) I like the handcrafted touch of having the artwork on the packaging, and c) Kind of local (we're both in Washington): https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/11 ... -and-stamp

I like to back locally but that's not the only criteria for me, I also like to back interesting ideas and products that I see as useful. I also like to back tea projects because ... tea. I'm a bit of a freak when it comes to tea. I also like to back when I can feel a person's passion for the project.

Recently we backed a lot of Children and Kid products. We are launching our own kids product and wanted to make sure we were supporting others.
